Producing pellets and briquettes

The production of pellets and briquettes requires the use of equipment designed to transform wood (or biomass) into a floury product, that is suitable to be turned into pellets or briquettes. Pellets and briquettes can be made from materials coming from production processes and/or machining (such as wood shavings and sawdust). In this way, they can be retrieved and exploited.
In order to handle, store and treat biomass efficiently, Mion Ventoltermica designs, manufactures and installs mechanical transport systems accompanied by silos or other collection and storage elements, geared to optimising production flows. The entire process depends on a dust suction and filtration system.

If the processing involves potentially explosive powders, the machines are developed and manufactured by Mion Ventoltermica in accordance with EU Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX Directive).
